Selfridges liked Manchester so much that they opened two shops here! And Apple have followed their example, so tomorrow I'm gonna check out the new mac shop in the new extension of the Arndale centre, I may even book into the genius bar to sort out my DVD burner...

Ben,
Just what is you do to your Mac? You know making us all severally jealous at GB with the only macbook pro in sight. Due to having a faulty wireless connection on your "old" G4, and now a problem with your DVD drive. I hope you're not hoping for a Core Duo 2 machine in replacement!!
Seriously though, I am seriously jealous that you now have 2 Apple Stores to choose from. I have to settle with Regents St, or Bluewater!
I hope it gets fixed.
Cheers
Steve

Well it needs a new DVD Burner...so I'm back on the old powerbook with dodgy wifi! Fortunately it's still under warranty though

Not that it means jot to me and does not improve my world in the slightest, the hot news (for you) is that not only do we have a second Apple store, we also have the just opened Apple Premier Reseller store at 1 Piccadilly (basically on the flip side of Barburrito) - see www.macworld.co.uk/business/news/index.cfm?newsid=16447&pagtype=samechandate, www.digitalstoremanchester.co.uk or numerous other Manchester press.
Have to say all this doesn't sit easy, especially in the aftermath of our Sanctus talks on 'consumerism' a couple of months back.
